Hi all I am currently planning the MEV 2017 Europe roadtrip with a company called InterEvents ( interevents.eu) as I don't have much time for sorting it out myself. Roadtrip Dates for you diaries: 9th-12th June or 16th-19th JUNE 2017 (Meet Friday, head home late Monday). I know this is advance notice (I want to get in your diaries first) and I want to reduce the chance of excuses not to come, like I have a holiday planned, its raining etc... The reason we have 2 dates are because we want to try to go the Nurburgring but the dates they advertise for track availability will only be finalised in January. At a high level this is what we are trying to do, if we can't do the ring we will plan something else in the region: Friday - Cross channel to France and try to get to Arras/Lens. Saturday night be at Luxembourg City Sunday be at the Ring Monday head back home Hope the pics of this years roadtrips will inspire more people to come to next years trips, its a great way to make new friends and put faces to other people you have probably interacted with on the forum. I work with InterEvents to plan it all. This is open to all kit car drivers (motorbikes and support vehicles), you can bring your mate/missus/kid, dog etc. You can always choose your own accommodation to suit your pocket. Bob

Bob you do realise its the Le Mans 24hr over the weekend of 17th/18th June dont you? I know its no where near the Nurburgring but its a cracking weekend should the Nurburgring event not come off a real motor heads alternative.

ok, Ive done it loads of times, on the cheap, but cant spare the time this year to organise (I appreciate how much work is involved).
I dont stay at the track, expense and noise being deciding factor, I camp about 15 mins away by car and get parking at circuit which can be shared over the weekend b y careful scheduling, sleep on the ferry crossing to/from Caen (from Southampton) therefore no accom Friday or Sunday nights, track tickets are really cheap compared to UK major race events but most of all its the free stuff thats best, meeting at various bars outside the circuit, the camp site I stay at has car events (best exhaust note, best engine, largest engine, smallest engine, best dressed driver (flat cap and string back gloves)) every night with a barbi at the main house, Friday evening drivers parade in the town, the drive there and the drive back.
Basically its a car fest weekend loads of clubs, cars, and folk out for a laugh.
And for those who get bored easily on long trips you can count the number of UK registered cars being stopped by the French boys in blue (they love us and have a particular liking for getting us to part with our Euros).
