Unfortunately I am having to sell my Rocket due to circumstances beyond my control.
MEV Rocket Honda Type R
This really is a one off MEV Rocket. Not your usual Ford Focus engine and not your usual MEV Rocket Chassis.
This is the very last MEV Rocket kit ever to come out of the 'Road Track Race' factory in Nottingham just before their demise in January 2015.
This has been a no-expense spared build and has taken almost 2 years to complete.
The car passed IVA in Nottingham and was registered on 1st November 2016 and has covered just 50 Miles. It is currently on a cherished plate 'CA13LYD' which does not come with the car. The car will be on a brand new '66' plate.
The build of this car really has been a labour of love, and the high build quality shows that.
The car features the following;
Race Spec chassis with extra horizontal side impact bars running the full length of the passenger compartment. Reinforced steel plates under seats.
This in the only MEV Rocket in the world which is powered by Honda's bullet proof and renowned Accord Type R (VTEC) 2.2 H22a7 normally aspirated engine producing 220bhp (as standard) and revs to 9,000 rpm coupled with Honda's Manual 5 Speed LSD Gearbox. (Deano's Rocket has the same engine but with flappy paddle gear changes)
.
0 - 60 takes place in around 3 seconds (this is Ariel Atom acceleration) and I have no idea about top speed - I havn't done it, but it will be over 140 mph I would think.
The donor engine had covered just 50,000 miles and has had a full rebuild with new internals (all documented) £1,600 spent on the rebuild, so it's all brand new inside.
The gearbox was stripped, checked and completely rebuilt with new seals (all documented).
Everything about this car is custom, from custom side pods which house x2 mini radiators with adjustable fan cut-in (like the Ariel Atom) to the fuel tank in the front to help with weight distribution.
The custom gear selector position (Honda Civic Type R position) and custom gear cables to custom high tensile steel drive shafts able to take 600bhp.
Extra wide seats (comfortable), with Sabelt race-spec 4 point harness seat belts.
Everything on this car was designed to be disassembled and re-assembled so rivets were NOT used, everything is bolted on using rivnuts and allen bolts for extra strength.
The wiring is all quick release using quick release connectors, so the entire chassis can be stripped without having to rewire any of the engine or lighting looms.
Race Technologies DASH2 Pro digital dash which is fully customisable and programmable race spec dash (same as Ariel Atom 3S).
Full custom built stainless steel decat exhaust system.
Quick release Sparco steering wheel for easy access and extra security.
Momo Racing Wheels (from Italy) wrapped in brand new Yokohama semi-race tyres.
The spec really is too much to list, so please call or message me to arrange a viewing.
Please message me for price and pics.
