Regarding the wishbone bolts it could be that the large washers are binding on the bushes rather than making contact with the metal crush tube.
I had this exact issue (same bushes) but got some special 1mm stainless washers at the recent NEC Classic Car show which are the same diameter as crush tube. This basically adds 1mm to the crush tube and ensures that you are clamping the tube and not binding on the bush.
With this mod all my wishbones can be moved up and down with a firm push using just a couple of fingers where before you had to push really hard with a lot of force to overcome the stiction.
Could be my 2 coat wishbone painting added 1 or 2mm to bush area nesscitating the extra washer.
Long term I may go back to rubber bushes but budget is spiralling so using these for the moment.

Ok so know the fun Begins, yeah you guessed it i have picked up my kit, WOW so many bit's to play with.
But I am still some way away yet, yep still on cleaning detail, front sub frame nearly painted and wishbones and one caliper to paint, and just to ruin my day I split the rubber seal on the caliper whilst prepping it up for painting.
My computer/hobby room now has a very nice aroma of fibre glass as all my bits are stored in here until I get started with the frame.

Well would you believe it, my frame gets dropped off today whilst i am at work, get home n the half light looks awesome can't wait to start playing so i get a mate to help me put it in the garage and on to the sub frames, great looks like all the bolt holes line up just fine.
As it had been raining the frame was very wet so I wiped it down only to find a small but unsightly mark in the powder coat on a bit that will be noticed (gutted at this point) so have taken pictures and e-mailed the powder coating place to see if its fixable or what they can do.
plus it was like 2 weeks late, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ok so a little update. Frame has now been fixed and you cant tell there was any problem so thats all good. My new pads and discs have arrived and now fitted I am also a little stuck on wheel spacers is there any better than others ect?. Just need to take the frame off to put the floor on then the frame can be bolted down, I think.

Oh and just a quick question, I presume I am cutting this bar off an inch before the bolt that holds it on the sub frame in order to allow me to bolt it to the back of the exo as there are 2 flat tabs there that need to be drilled?. Thanks Al

Yes just cut the front section off on both sides. I found it was a pain to get the tabs on the chassis to fit but the holes on my kit were pre drilled and didn't line up. If you have to drill the holes on the chassis tabs then that would make life easier. I ended up making a modification to my tabs (copied from jgilbert) to make it easier to get the chassis on without damaging the powder coating. mevowners.proboards.com/thread/3878/tridents-exocet-build?page=14

Freaky parts for the spacers he runs the race series and produces good range of parts for mx5s.

I have made slow progress sorry to report. So the floor is now attached, Thanks to my mate for lending me a effortless pop rivet gun hmm would have been nice if it had worked on the day. so yes my hand is a little sore, but today I have bolted the frame down for the first time and foot pedals in.
Thanks welshy1 had a chat with stew I think @ freaky parts and have got that covered but now after looking at his web site i'm now thinking of flexible brake and fuel lines II see some people are using them on here - so is there any pros and cons ?.
Rookie mistake I know but after reading peoples build treads in much more detail and seeing all different brackets ect being welded on prior to powder coating.

Ok so I have got 2 problems sort of.. if any one has some good idea's First one: I bought some new goodridge braided hoses and the front 2 seem too short they seem to be at least 2" away from any thing to mount them to, any one had this issue?. Second issue: after cleaning petrol tank ect I just placed it over what I presume are the brackets to bolt it to, and they dont seem to line up, it looks simple enough to work around but is this common?. Thanks Al

Are your calipers are upside down the bleeder should be on top side. Also the front cal brackets are a left and right side. Rear ones are the same shape.. Do you have the right length hoses in the rear.. You are going to install tank 180 from design?? Filler on right side.. Brackets are a known problem..

Thanks gwnwar for noticing the calipers are upside down, I kind of had them laid out on my bench one for the right ect and so they went on didn't give a moment's thought oops. And with regards to the fuel tank I have just placed it on there where the brackets sort on lined up with the holes, Might be half tempted to get a tank made, looks a lot neater I think. Nice little work around tojeiro I take it some kind of trimming would be needed for the IVA?. thnkas Al

... if it can be touched by "the sphere" then yes it'd need to meet radius criteria one way or another
