About to start tearing this thing down so figure I should post a thread! I will be getting a the sport frame, and designing my own front roll hoop. Adding a fuel cell with some sort of protection around it. Possibly a DIY active rear wing, and some sort of front downforce that (hopefully) looks better then the factory "wing stuck on the front" look. I've been debating a lot on the engine. The sound and power of a turbo car is great but after that there isn't really much room for increasing power down the line if desired. The low weight is a definite plus although the turbo probably adds around 50lbs. I thought about the LFX but there's concerns about hood fitment, and again not much room for improvement from stock, unless a supercharger or turbo was fitted (haven't looked into if there would be space yet). This engine is around 100lbs lighter than the LS engine but would still require a diff upgrade, and a tranny that's heavier than the miata's. Since this is going to be a promo vehicle for my business, the LS engine would be great for the generic wow factor, and has lot's of room for upgrading later if deemed necessary. But this is the heaviest of the bunch and a lower revving midrange torque motor isn't ideal for a car as lightweight as the exocet. As of now I think I'm leaning towards the LS but we'll see.

Not much improvement from stock on an LFX? You can supercharge or turbo charge them relatively easily. There are quite a few boosted V6 Camaros running around with surprising amounts of power.
I've seriously considered doing a Honda J-Series V6. It's not common, in NA form they're pretty potent and they can be boosted with a bit work.

First tool causality of the build. 3/8" breaker bar broke trying to get the lug nuts off, that were undoubtedly installed way too tight with an impact wrench at a tire shop. The factory wrench doesn't fit in the holes for the aftermarket wheels.

In contrast to the LS engines where you can upgrade the cam and get +90hp. Forced induction does add weight, though not enough to bring the LFX to LS levels, plus the weight is further back.
