Its been a while since I have had a chance to do much but I have ordered my kit and I have finished the strip down completely. I have cut out the VIN Number from the engine bay. All that is left is to bring the shell and panels to the scrap yard next week. I had thought about selling parts but I can't face dealing with tire kickers so i will send most stuff to the scrap yard. Seriously stick the parts on eBay as you have nothing to lose, and plenty of folding stuff to gain. All the buyers I found were serious and pleasant, and no time wasters at all.

Fin,
Your right I might just give it ago, the only thing is that there isn't as much of second hand car parts market on eBay in Ireland.
We have a site called DoneDeal and it is similar to gumtree and in my experience it is painful to sell parts on here.
But i might give eBay a go and see what comes of it.

Try eBay anyway. My headlights went to Cyprus; roll bar to Italy; tail light to Belgium, all through their Global Delivery Programme which only cost me local postage, so there's a bigger market than just locally.

If you sell on ebay, pack it, and pad well, and then always get the insurance! My headlight got broken in shipping, huge pain. I'll never ship ground again, didn't get insurance... it was good ebay lesson though. Ended up losing $$ on that one.

I know there are a few threads on the forum on digital dashes, but I was wondering if anyone has experience with them and if you have any recommendations on a good one.

Like most people here i haven't had much time lately with work to do much. I have started to make some progress over the last couple of weeks. This finally allowed me to clear up the workshop and it is amazing how much space such a small car took up.

It is amazing how easy the crane makes it look to lift up and dispose of the shell. it took me hours just to get it up on the trailer. The price of scrap metal has plummeted and i got a princely sum €15.

Spent a few hours today sorting out the front wishbones to alter them to make the shocks fit in the front. I gave plenty of thought about doing all of the cleaning and painting of the PPF before the frame arrived but i soon decided to wait until i have finished up all of the dirty work before trying to clean and paint any of the parts.

I Started to refurbish my break calipers and I am happy with the results so far. I don't have a blast cabinet and used a wire brush on my grinder instead. It was good enough. i decided to paint the calipers orange as part of my chosen colour scheme and it turned out ok so far. I will post more pics once I have lackered them.

Looks good, assume it's high temp paint?
Later in your build, plasti-dip is pretty cool and good for testing various colors. It generally finishes in a matte color, and can be peeled off without damaging what's underneath. Would never use it for brakes, but if you want to test black / white / orange rims versus silver it's an easy, cheap way to get a full visual with no risk.

It is hi temp paint and I hope to lacker them this weekend and rebuild them. The plasti dip paint looks very interesting and I may just give that a go. Thanks for the pointers.
