I have finally managed to get the wiring harness out of the the car today. I have to say the driver side of the engine bay was the most fiddly.
After getting the harness out f my car which is 21 years old i would hate to tackle a modern car.
One of the next jobs is to disconnect the aircon from the car. Is there any pit falls i should look out for?

I am nearly at the point of removing the body shell. Is there anything i need to remove from the shell before i scrap it. I know i need to take the VIN plate from the engine bay but is there any other stuff that may come in useful later on?

Today was a milestone day in the workshop. I finally separated the PPF from the body. I did however have a problem as i missed two bolts from under the lower wishbone and once i removed this the body came off easily.

I spoke with Stuart ( a gentleman by the way) and i plan to order my kit next week so i will have it in time for Santa.
I decided to order it now as the cost has dropped dramatically for me as the price of sterling has come way down.
So because of this the fact the Vat rate in the UK is only 20% and not the 23% we have in Ireland i will save about 300 euro on the overall cost from the original cost i budgeted for just 2 months ago.

Today was yet another enjoyable day in the workshop. I separated the body last week but i only had a chance to move the PPF today. I decided to build a little rig up to help me to move the PFF and to support the body safely. I had some scaffolding laying around the yard so i built a frame around the car and supported the rear of the car with an 8 foot pole and made up an overhead gantry for the front so i could lift it with my electric hoist. This is an ALDI special but i have used it loads and would recommend one for the cost of it. Apparently it will lift 600 kg. The whole thing worked a treat and within 35 mins i had the body supported and the PFF out in the open.

That looks fantastic, well done on the finish.
I was thinking that paint is the way to go as powder coating is a bit to easily chipped and will be expensive enough.
Thanks for the feedback Fin

I would suggest paint for complete PPF and order a Powdercoated chassis from Stuart.
Main reason is that even being careful during reassembly my PPF and wishbones suffered some significant scratches that can easily be touched up with paint. I got wishbones and sub frames shotblasted as it gives great key for paint.
I used a POR 15 base coat with a top coat of Rustoleum Combicolor which I could order in the same grey colour code as my Chassis powder coat. POR 15 is a bit more expensive than Hammerite but far superior in my opinion and also goes on much easier.

Its been a while since I have had a chance to do much but I have ordered my kit and I have finished the strip down completely. I have cut out the VIN Number from the engine bay. All that is left is to bring the shell and panels to the scrap yard next week. I had thought about selling parts but I can't face dealing with tire kickers so i will send most stuff to the scrap yard.
