Things are getting really busy so I won't have a lot of time over the next couple of weeks to work on my project but I wanted to toss out one last update before my impending vacation hits. This arrived yesterday: CoT wing from Dale Earnhardt Inc. that I picked up for a very good price. This one's an aluminum development wing. As such, it has seen some use but not actual race usage.

F-you! I got an email that said someone would call me about an interview for tickets. I didn't get any. Was it awesome?

F-you! I got an email that said someone would call me about an interview for tickets. I didn't get any. Was it awesome? I'm sorry to inform you that it was absolutely epic! I was really lucky to have gotten in. They had around 1.2 million applications and only 400 or so tickets. (Each ticket could bring up to 4 guests.)

I'm back from Japan now, will be starting on the bodywork this weekend. I've been trying to find good photos of how other builders have installed the brackets for their body work. (Single piece nose and hood) I've found a few photos but nothing that's tremendously good. Has anybody got pointers to good detailed photos in this regard?
Or better yet, anybody local to me have a few minutes tonight/this weekend to let me take a look at their builds with my camera?

Where did you get the wing from? Pretty cool and does it bolt right up using the exocet wing mount kit?

Where did you get the wing from? Pretty cool and does it bolt right up using the exocet wing mount kit? The wing came from a friend-of-a-friend connection. It should bolt straight to the Exomotive CoT wing mounts, though, since it was a CoT development wing. That said, it's entirely aluminum and boat-anchor heavy. (~40 pounds!)

That's pretty bad ass! What do the similar carbon fiber wings weigh for comparison?

That's pretty bad ass! What do the similar carbon fiber wings weigh for comparison? For comparison, Amazon lists the weight of a Spec Miata APR GTC-200 CF wing at 18 pounds. Your mileage may vary, though. So yeah, the aluminum CoT development wing that I have is very heavy.

Pit in some work last night and today. - Passenger seat mounts fabricated, seat and harness test fitted. - Radiator replaced. Old radiator... New coolness...

Slightly more progress tonight. Got the fly screens back from Tap Plastics this evening and got them mounted. Borrowed the idea from Steadfast's Exocet. Using 1/8" abrasions resistant poly carbonate. Unlike what the photos show, they're actually secured to the brackets with four bolts. The poly carbonate is a bit more flexible at the that than I'd like but it's not too bad. If it's a problem I'll bump up to 1/4" when/if I update the design any.
