That's a REALLY good idea! Thanks! I was already planning to do a little adjustment on it.

Worked up a temporary gauge panel this morning. Installed my hazard switch, volt meter, and idiot/on light into it. The empty hole will get something. Not sure what, just yet. Also, have these with which to replace the stock instrument cluster. SpeedHut make nice gauges!

Got an oil pressure gauge too?? Not yet but it's in the cards after I get through SB100. Oil temp and oil pressure gauges, for sure.

From experience, you won't be able to reach any switch located where you now have them when belted in ... I mounted mine on a panel that slants from the cross tube to my trans tunnel, and can just reach those.

Just curious .. how much did they value your Exo at for registration ? So, my reg fees came out to $1068. I'm assuming that they based the fees on the value of the kit/chassis listed in my Exomotive invoice rather than my calculated build cost of ~$16,700. (kit, donor, ordered parts, etc...)

I'm planning to build a small panel that will be within finger range of the shifter when it's in 1st/3rd.

A bit more on my California DMV experience so far for SB100.
1. I scheduled myself for the first available appointment last week. This was good because it meant that I had a hard deadline in which to pull my paperwork together instead of putting off more and more because nobody likes to do time at the DMV. I arrived 30 minutes early and was told to go wait until five minutes from my appointment time before checking in which was fine, it gave me a chance to go through my paperwork one more time. Surprisingly, from the moment I checked in for my appointment until I left with my sequence number, only twenty minutes had ticked by. I was ready to spend an hour or more!
2. The documents required are CA DMV REG 343 and CA DMV REG 5036. Filling them out as completely as possible with the information I had ahead of time was very well appreciated by the DMV staff. There was quite a bit I couldn't fill in but that was fine. I spent a couple of hours the night before going over my receipts and building up a small spreadsheet, making sure that the sums added up. I printed the spreadsheet and clipped it to the stack of receipts. I also printed off some 40 photos of my build progress. (double sided, two photos per page side)
3. The DMV staff I talked to were all very friendly, the appreciated the fact that I had no idea what I was doing and the process for registering a kit car is as well defined as other processes with its own unique forms to make the process non-confusing/easier. They literally did all of the heavy lifting for me after I'd done a bit of heavy lifting on my end to show that I was trying. Just smile, be friendly, and patient then things will go smoothly. And quickly!
The staff made sure that I knew the order that I need to finish things in and walked me through the paperwork before turning back out into the wild.
4. My sequence number is 2016255. If my understanding is correct, just over half of the SB100 sequence numbers for 2016 have been issued. There should be plenty left unless there's a huge run on them for people suddenly completing custom build cars. If that's the case, well, January's not that far away now.
Super happy and super excited. If you're going to go through SB100, I HIGHLY recommend taking the time make use of the Los Gatos DMV branch. They seem to have their stuff together with regard to the process.
