Starting to look at the wiring this week and was wondering what these two items are and whether they will be needed. The first one was bought up a while ago but couldn't remember what it was The second did have a connection for the charcoal canister which I deleted when on the MX but was wondering what the rest was for. Thanks for your help Dave

The large unit in 2nd pic is the igniter you need this or coils won't work it needs to be grounded.. and coils grounded rear intake manifold on the rear lift hook.. The little thing is a condenser need that too.. 1st pic if I remember is for headlamps don't have it in USA..Others will chime in..

First one is the Dim/dip resistor. I think these were only fitted on early UK models. Seemed to be to do with dimming retracting headlamps. Not needed for normal lighting.

So I assume the bracket connected to the chassis would provide the earth for the igniter?

I think it must be earthed through one of its wires 'cos the casing the bolts goes thru are plastic.
