Decided to chop loom up just can't get it to fit nicely with all the unneeded wires, does anyone know which connectors share earth paths? Can't seem to find a full wiring diagram for a mx5 1.8 1995. Any hints and tips very worried about this but needs must. Any auto elections in Birmingham up for it?

To remove unused cable you need to cut off tape and flexy pipe as you do this cable tie loom every 12 inches or so and at all direction changes if you don't like I didn't you will end up with a right mess . As you remove redundant cable shared ground cables will become apparent , you can then either remove or extend ground cables to a more convenient location

Theoretically but then again this is automotive wiring TBH I wired from scratch and mine is a Rocket so no familiarity with MX5 loom. I do agree with sparkyman403 though, stripping off the loom covering will answer loads of questions. If you haven't got one yet get yourself a good (not expensive) multimeter, dead easy to trace wires and check continuity. Get one with an audible signal for continuity as it saves having to look at the meter

Print off in color.. see below They are in color..it has '94 and '96.. '94 really same as '95 for the most part.. When you cut wires leave a little tail in case you have to splice it back. leave all black wires in tacked. when you remove do put on slip ties but leave loose so you can moves wires as cut.. there are around 9 ground spots for harness.. Get some shrink tube cut small pieces to seal cut ends of wires don't need a hot wire grounding out later. Go slow. www.mellens.net/mazda/

I just cut some of my harness (99 donor) on a loaded car. I removed the power windows, mirrors, door locks,HVAC,A/C power steering and audio wires. I used the Mellens link Gwnwar listed. I did cut some grounds but I think they were all audio. I used shrink tube on wire ends and taped the ends back into the harness afterward. I also removed the blower main fuse ( under the hood fuse box) and all the un-used fuses in the regular fuse box to reduce the chances of powering a cut wire. I did accidentally cut 2 wires that connected a multi plug with the flasher relay. I reattached the wires and now have working flashers and emergency flashers again. I removed several relays but have more to do. Go slow and refer to the wiring diagrams. Also start and check your electric components you are keeping frequently.
