Can I just confirm that it was the lack of air filter tubing that caused this? I've got the same symptoms but don't have mine plumbed in. Connectors are connected. (Threw out the tube by mistake)

Rubix.. It would be the OEM plastic intake tube (black about 2' long)between the throttle body on the intake manifold and the AFM or MAF which ever you are using. AFM/MAF tells the ECU how much air is going into the engine intake and temp of air.. After the AFM/MAF you can run any air filter you want.. It will also help with problems you have if you has a signature line in your posts. see the Red White Blue in this post bottom..
