The body comes off this week, so thinking about engine / gearbox stands for the component strip.
Apologies if a daft question, but I can't find the spec... what does the engine and gearbox weigh? There's plenty of engine stands on eBay rated at 1000lbs/450kg for around £35. Will this be enough?
Thanks,
Robin

More than enough. For either the box or the block but you're not going to want to put them both on at once....

Check the rating when the arm is fully extended as that will drastically reduce capacity and often things are advertised with maximum load ratings not useful operating orientations.
Personally I would go for a higher rating as it will have more uses long term if you hang on to it or an easier resale value if you only use it for the one build.

True for a crane but most stands I've seen don't extend...

kiwicanfly.. He is talking about engine stand.. I have a 1000lb stand I like the wider base footprint only a couple of dollars more. Same with jack stands like the 6ton bigger footprint and taller..
