I'm getting my parts ready for powder coating. I figure I'll get the rollerskate and all the various panels and mounts that come with the Exocet kit powder coated in one batch and then send my frame off to be powder coated a few weeks later after I've I assembled the rollerskate, test mounted the frame, and figured out where I need to have extra brackets (headlights, tail lights, E-brake mount, various engine bits, etc.) welded on. I know it'll be an a little bit of a pain but I don't want to re-assemble the rollerskate before the powder coating is on it.
Does anyone have any advise regarding if I should pre-drill all the sheet metal panels, hubs (for fender mounts), etc. before or after the parts get powder coated?
I know a lot the floor/foot areas are susceptible to scratching. Is it worth getting the forward foot wells powder coated or should I stick with just rubber mats (I'm probably going to have mats no matter what)?
Also, I know there's at least one powder coating pro on here, should I get one or two coats of powder on the parts (I'm thinking about durability)? The color I'm going with (Prismatic Powders P-4105B) does not require a base coat or a top coat as far as I know.

I would pre-drill and fit all of the panels before having them coated. I had to trim and shape just about every aluminum panel in some way to make it fit like I wanted. Same with the rear uprights for the fender mounts I would drill them before coating.

Thanks for the advise. I'm hoping to have most of my parts off for powdercoating on Monday which means I have some drilling to do!

Speak to your powder coater re advice of holes clearances. I found some of my holes where very tight after powder coating due to the thickness of the coating.
