I was hoping someone could educate me again. I've been looking around for a stainless exhaust manifold and found a few on eBay, but they are all listed for a 1.8 mk2.5. Is there any reason why they wouldn't fit my mk2 1.8. m.ebay.co.uk/itm/221117152949Thanks

might be where EGR tube hooks in.. That's correct. If you are just plugging the EGR hole anyway, then it doesn't matter. If you are keeping EGR, I think you can buy the EGR tube from the later car and bolt it on the the earlier EGR valve. Please research and verify that though.

Will last not long before either the chrome falling off or the manifold to crack. Theres not much in the way of good quality manifolds for the mk2/2.5

This is the same one that I have on my car and it's fine. Mine was a mk1 1.8 and it was fine as I removed the EGR valve so didn't have to worry about the return outlet.

The 2:1 with the cat built in was (in the US at least) for California emissions equipped cars. I'm not sure if that was adapted elsewhere in the world.
