Right so during the week decided to get all the parts off and get them all prepped painted and got the oil return sorted to the sump. Replaced the cam/crank seals fitted new timing belt kit/water pump etc. Refitted all the parts back on including the rx8 injectors and turbo manifold So got the engine off the engine stand and on the engine hoist to fit the flywheel and clutch back on So got the engine back in didn't take to long done them a few times so pretty easy now looks pretty good Also while I had one laying around well 2 actually fitted a 6 speed gearbox and the 3.9 torsen diff. Got the ppf frame and prop back in I then called it a day after that. Also had a trial fit of the turbo pretty tight to the chassis but just fits in So a pretty good weekend still got plenty to do before it goes to the g19 for the final work and getting it all up and mapped.

Oh and for anyone interesting in turboing there exocets mines is being a trial so the company can sell full kits to the public.

Why did they use a flat plate downpipe flange and not a bell mouth? On second look, it appears in the picture that there isn't room for a good sized bell mouth. Definitely keep an eye out for boost creep when you get it tuned, with limited space for the waste gate to expel exhaust gases, it could become a factor. There might be room to add a divorced wastegate pipe, something to maybe look into. Also, i may have overlooked it but why the switch from the 4.3 to the 3.9, I thought the 4.3 was the more desirable of the 2?

The switch to a 3.9 is the fact ive swapped to the 6 speed gearbox and the 3.9 suits better than the 4.3, one thing I noticed last year is on some corners I would find that on some corners which are 2/3 gear corners going down to 2nd would cause the car to become unsettled under braking and if I left in 3rd coming out of the corner would be to low down on the revs. I do still have the 4.3 so will see how it goes with it during the year.
The turbo kit and people carrying out the work are well regarded mx5 turbo specialist so I trust there work as ive seen the results on other mx5.This is the first kit to be trialled out onto an exocet so there will always have some trial and error sorting out different set up during the year. It be running between 200-250bhp with a boost controller to set the levels depending on dry/wet track day etc.

What fuel pump/filter set up have you used? Walbro fuel pump and just a metal inline filter. Oh and the exocet is back fro g19 top quality work from them but due to some issues with there rolling road couldn't get a power figure from it which is a shame. A little video from them

The tank sits behind the passenger seat and the filer is mounted pretty much next to the tank will be changing that later in the year for a much bigger tank under the rear cover.

Also put in an order for a brank new set of new tyres to the market nankang ar-1 which with testing proves to be an extremely good tyre step ahead of the r888r new for toyo and at less cost too www.motmotorsport.co.uk/nankang-ar-1-100-c.asp

Yes they are e marked so road legal wouldn't suggest using them in the rain on the road tbh.
