Well, I think I will adapt the frame. Did you also look at the price? you can buy a complete kit for these amounts!

Don't know if you have considered this, I went to look at the one they were making for the 76 old chap with a view to mounting a convential caravan motor mover down onto the rear wheel above the shocker, however I think to put enough force down at that angle would look very over engineered and clumsy. So I have come up with another idea of which I am travelling to Birmingham to buy a pair of them, Reich a German company make a very compact Motor Mover unit, I hope it will mount on the back of the Trike frame to push up at an agle to hit the optimum angle on the wheel to put enough force on to move it. The motors new from Reich are a fortune as you cannot buy them seperate to the slow start unit and remote, however I only need the main unit to make a bracket, power it is no problem with a relay and switch. Once I have a unit cleaned up and ready to fit, I will take a trip down to RTR and see if it looks like it might fit, then post some pics for you guys, this is the only easy way I can see for a reverse, yes they fitted a funky reverse unit on his Trike, but it was at a cost of losing a fuel tank, I also think that once through its test, I will remove or refabricate the firewall at the back of the seat to accomodate a larger tank to come up behind my seat. Still waiting for my bloody money to place my order.... :-( The reverse unit I am looking at is the Reich Jumbo motor mover, you will see that its engineered different to most standard motor movers. see this link for what im thinking... www.caravanmoversonline.co.uk/reich/move-control-economy.htmlCheers Nick

I think it's also expensive, about £700... This week I will receive my tR1ke-kit and if all goes according to plan, I will receive the thingy from Lynxae on friday... This is one of the first things I want to mount/modify/adapt, so it will probably be the first modification I will post. I will keep you informed!

If you manage to modify and fit it, I would be very interested in a mod kit from you? As this is a very neat option, and uses a good car battery to run it along side the rest of the bike engine. I do hope you have some luck with it. I haven't paid £700 for the motor movers by the way, I bought a pair without remote and control box for a bargain of £40 :-) But I would be prepaired to spend more for a lighter neater option. Cheers Nick

I will keep you informed! If I manage it I think that all you need is a good example to duplicate. Otherwise I think a modkit must not be too diddicult to make for me. But first lets see how it comes to an end. Hopefully it all goes according to plan

I can tell you, it has a reverse! At least, mine has . I had to cut away a little piece of frame and welded it on anothe angle. Also had to make a mount for the motor, which must be finished. But this is my solution. Apologies for the poor photoquality...: the motor and mounting: the gears, seen from above: left side of the engine:

Nice one, I like it, is this the Lynx starter unit? I think I also have a reverse system sorted, but will need my trike built uo first before I attempt to mount it. Keep the pictures coming :-)

Yes, this is the Lynxae-kit. I had to modify the gearwheel by welding 2 additional sprocket-nuts to it, otherwise I hadn't enough room and the power connection would touch the frame. Also had to grind a corner out of the flange. You can see that on the bottom picture.
Yes Edwin, I also mounted the gearchangesolenoidthing. But not the Klicktronic, but the EasyShift system from a dutch supplier.

While at the show this weekend I got the opportunity to look over RTR's current reverse solution. Paul was kind enough to allow me to video his demonstration and agreed that it might be of interest if posted. While RTR's initial solution may appear cumbersome and heavy the overriding factor in this customer specked tR1ke was that it should be 100% reliable, of proven technology and have the ability to accommodate uneven road surfaces. nigel

My opinion is that this is a relevant option for RTR to offer, when ordering a Tr1ke. So RTR can check if the items works. RTR have ordered one from Lynx so will be trying it next week. Paul Holmes.
