Curious what others have done to mount an OEM radiator. I thought that the radiator mounting brackets were intended to work with the NA OEM radiator, but I can't figure out how this mount: connects to the OEM radiator I'm going back and forth on whether to mess around with fabricating mounts or just to bite the bullet and order an aftermarket radiator with side mounting. Help appreciated.

My (relatively new) OEM rad side brackets simply unbolted, 'exposing' side mount holes like those shown on the Exomotive web site. That said, Jim, take a look at Improbably Construct's posts from the last week or so. Seems as though the Exomotive supplied bottom mounts are a bit too long. If you mount the radiator as low as those go, it appears at though is it too low to clear the bodywork.

Thanks guys, now I need to find a radiator quick. The cooling system is the now the major roadblock to sorting out the electrical and I'm on vacation all week to work on it.

The Mishimoto NA radiator fits great. No matter what year you donor is you want a 90-97 radiator for the Exocet. The Mishimoto Fan shroud fits and works great too. This is the combo I have on my car.

Amazon has them.. just make sure it has the mounting holes for the brackets not made one piece with with mount holes.. If only going to street drive single row OK if racing go with double row like Mishimoto above post..

I'm going to pickup a Koyo from a nearby spec miata shop. More money, but this is my week off to work on the car and I don't want to wait.

Do you have a close up pic of how the top bracket mounted on the radiator. My concern is that with Mishimoto on Amazon, the weld sticks out enough on the side to prevent the Exomotive mounts to be flush enough to clear the frame widthwise..

I actually replaced the side bracket with an 1/8"X1" strip of aluminum. I then mounted the exomotive mount down about where the C shape flange is. I will try and take a picture tomorrow.

I just went though your thread and found the pics. I am not sure it's worth for me to go that route. Will probably buy all aluminum radiator and try to make it work with exo mounts. The lip does look smaller that the plastic tank one.

The Koyo has the same weld. It took three washers plus the grommet to keep the brackets clear of it.

Do you have pictures? For me with all the washers needed to clear, i was having hard time fitting between the frames tubes.

Alex, sorry, totally missed your pic request. Top view. if it were any higher, the bolts would be in a direct line with the top tube and it would take drilling rivets to get the radiator out. bottom:
