Bought a bunch of parts today and hopefully completing some CL sales this weekend of the parts I don't need off the donor to help pay for it all!

Time to break up the Miata chassis as I cannot get someone to take it and I don't have any way to get it to the junkyard in one piece. Three $5 sawsaw blades later and the front end is off. Tomorrow I hope to finish the job. Both a sad and happy day at the same time.

Look in the classified part of the news paper or one of those small buy/sell paper free at gas stations.. There are people that are just looking for metal to pick up free and take away for free. I have had 6 or 7 miata shells removed by large scrap metal places (find with Google search) that come and remove for free and send me a check in a day or two. It's not much return but they are gone.. I am in NW Arkansas

I thought about that George but I need a legal title transfer or else I'll never be able to get the car registered in MA.
Only legit scrap metal dealers can do the paperwork in MA. I've found one in my area but I have to chop the body into manageble chunks so that I can move it as I have no truck or trailer and they don't pick up.

It cost me $60 in sawzaw blades but the car is chopped into 5 major pieces and I can pickup or flip all the parts except for the firewall/windshield section which I need the crane to move. I'll probably rent a truck from a big box store to get it to the junkyard. I will post a pic or two in the morning oncr there's light.
A couple guys who bought parts came over to help chop the car in exchange for the rockers. Unfortunately only one of them was any good as the other was 100% bondo (fooled us all). I gave them free parts as compensation.

Uhaul rents small trucks around $19.00 plus mileage. Or have a friend with a trailer hitch rent open trailer from uhaul..

I take it your cut our the windshield section? I did when disposing of my shell, and was amazed at the number of layers of sheet metal in this area! Makes sense for rollover protection, but wow ... that was a job !!

Did you just cut the pillars off and cut the glue holding the windshield on at the base?

I cut the pillars off below the bottom edge of the glass (that took the longest, and consumed a blade for each side), then ran from one side to the other thru the thinner sheet metal below the windshield. Goal was to make it manageable to move around while not breaking the glass. Three blades total to remove that beast!

I threw the body on craigslist under the free section, I've never received so many Emails... Some were pretty entertaining. The body ended up going to a Chump Car builder, was free for me to get rid of, free for him to build from. I'll call it a win.
I've had good luck with the home depot rentals, but if you'll be more than an hour Uhaul can be just as cheap. Oh the joys of a truck-less build!
