So I have a question for the Mevabusa builders.
What Diff are you using? What ratio is it, and can you alter the ratio and overall speed to a certain degree with different sprockets?
What I need to know is if I fit an LSD Chain Diff for say a Sierra so 3.14 ratio, and my engine is revving high but not producing much speed, can I alter how this works simply by fitting smaller or bigger rear sprockets?
i'm totally lost on the understanding of differentials and what is going to work best on a 1000cc V-Twin engine.
Cheers
Nick

Hey Nick, I am using the Radical/quaife LSD chain drive differential, with integral reverse. An absolutelty brilliant pice of engineering. Drive ratio's are very much adjustable via the fitment of different sprockets. Both forward and rear sprockets can be changed. Pushihng for higher top speeds reduces acceleration, and opting for quicker acceleration times reduces overall top speed. Consideration into main uses for the vehicle need considered for best ratio's. Again though it's not too difficult to chage ratio's later, especially with the split type rear sprockets. Here is a useful link to help playing with different power plants and drive ratio's. They can also supply differnt diffs. www.westgarage.co.uk/calculators/calculators.htmlMy diff can be seen on page 6 of my build diary. I hope this helps answer your questions. Dean

Just took a brief look over the pictures on the build and photo bucket, this is exactly what I want. I look forward to seeing it in the flesh
Many thanks, you have changed my direction and thoughts to diff now

I think this diff is in the region of £1400 and the other chain diff is up around the £2000
Sent from my Nexus 5 using proboards
