I've been doing track weekends with my Rocket for about a year now, running Toyo Proxes R888. While I find it to be a good tire that takes just a little bit of work to warm up, I'd like to enter NASA time trials at some point in the coming season which will require proper slicks. My question is, what do folks find works best with cars that are this light weight? I'm considering a number of options...Toyo RR, Hankook Z214 or a set of Hoosiers. The tricky part is that most offer two compound options (soft for auto-cross and medium for road tracks). What I'm concerned about is getting enough heat into the road track tires with something as light as the rocket (weighed in at 1350lbs). On the other hand, I don't want the soft tire fall off half way through a session.
Thoughts?

If the time trials are short periods of activity and long periods of waiting around, then a softer compound will warm up to temperature faster than medium, other than that the tyre manufacturer/shop should be able to recommend a tyre for the weight of the car.
I am looking to use mine in hillclimbs and will be getting the softest compound I can once the current 888's are done.

Time trials are similar to road track HPDE (track days). This means ~20-30min sessions 4-5 times in a day. Ultimately only a single best time lap matters which is why I've seen guys use A-class hoosiers which on a full size car break away after 2-3 laps at the track, but get penalized in points for using that tire type. The weight of this car compared to the tire type and size used is relatively rare at the track in the US - i think the closest that comes to it is the spec miata class, but then those guys run a bit different style. Anyway, I thought perhaps folks here already had some experience with racing slicks so I thought I'd ask...
