Do you have any plans to be at any events or tracks where I could come see your car? I love the build and I want to see it in person. I'm in North Alabama, but I would make the trip down South. I am going to try to go to the Gulf Coast Region SSCA Autocross on June 21st but it will depend mostly on the weather. Come on down to Fairhope anytime and see the car. I'd be curious to check it out as well - I will be in Destin in 2 weeks, and the following weekend I'll be near Rockford, AL on Lake Mitchell. I work from home and the Exocet lives about 10 feet from my desk. Feel free to come on by anytime. Fairhope is about 2 hours from Destin but it is a touristy destination too with a bunch of artists, shops and a brewery.

No news about body panels other than in January when I picked up my frame they expectes them to be ready in 2-3 months. In March they were about 6-8 weeks. In April they were 4-6 weeks. I expected mid May from that one... Here it is almpos the middle of June and I am still waiting. If they ever ship they are supposed to be RAL7031 Blue Grey. It should match the frame pretty closely. I've traded a couple of emails with Kevin this week because I wanted to order a couple of things and have them shipped with my bodywork. I'm chassis #93 which corresponds with bodywork set #56. Kevin said he was picking up bodywork sets #54 and #55 from Downing this Thursday, 6/11. Kevin thought my bodywork should be ready to ship next week. You're chassis #96 so you should be coming up pretty soon!

I have been autocrossing since 2002, and have won local and divisional championships in the past. I usually run 4-5 national events/ year, and am always respectful when codriving (I am codriving a friend's STX RX-8 this year at national and KY Region events since I have started modding my miata in prep for the Exocet build and it doesn't fit in a competitive class right now). Shoot me an email at my screen name at gmail if that might be a possibility (I may still head to the event just to see your Exocet in action).

My body work is finished and should be on its way tomorrow! With any luck I should be able to pick it up before the weekend.

What do you plan to use to mount the bodywork? Are you going to use the stock fuel fill? Mine should be shipping soon and I want to figure out the hardware part soon. Thanks

I am not sure how I am going to mount the body work yet. I am thinking about using 4 of the Mini Quik-latches for the hood and self eject buttons from Panelfast on the trunk. I am going to weld tabs and use the Perforated Stud Bases from McMaster-Carr for the fenders but I plan on leaving them off most of the time. I think I am going to follow JIDiesel and go with the Sparco fuel filler. I dont know what I am going to do about a fuel vent. Right now I am venting through a charcoal canister from a range rover. I don't think its a good idea to have fuel vapors collecting under the trunk cover though so I will have to do something about that.

Miraculously my body work made it from Atlanta to Mobile overnight and I was able to pick it up this afternoon. I only had time to unpack the hood and set it on the car but it looks great and matches the frame perfectly. I ordered mini quik-latches for the hood and I will just use button head screws for the trunk. Now to decide what fuel filer to use...
