If anyone is building one of these and hasn't fitted the floor I recommend you fit your side panels, then work out how much you need to leave hanging over the side to c over the gap between the side panels and the frame. You should also leave some hanging into the engine bay to pick up the side panel in the engine bay which has nothing to attach too.

Hi Keith
looking good, I trail fitted side pannels and they fitted fine to edge of frame how are you going to run brake lines and wiring with pannels on?
Also trail fit all your front hubs bearings and calipers you may have to machine off 6mm to get caliper and brake pads over disc . cheers Conrad

Hi Conrad. If you used cortina brake disks you will need to machine the calaper mounts. The best option is Rally design disks as they are the right diameter. They do cost a bomb to import to Aus though.

Thanks for the heads up on discs I should have checked this last week as I just ordered the discs. My side panels are just bolted on so I can take it off with minimum fuss anytime.

Finally got tie rod ends, they don't seem to fit. Too small for the large hole in the arm and too big for the spacers provided. They only go into the taper 4-5 mm anyone else have this problem?

Normally you would just fit Focus/ST170 rear discs on the back as normal but as you are using newer 5 stud hubs you will need to check to see if the disc from your XR5 will fit along with the upright and caliper bracket.
There will be other manufacturers whose disc will fit it's just a matter of doing the research I managed to fid peugeot disc that fit on my Rocket and they were far cheaper than the Rally Design ones.

Hi
A quick question: which seats did you use? I assume they are ADR compliant. I have done som esearching for seats that will work in the Sonic and be ADR compliant but they seem to be too wide.
Thanks
