I would recommend using Orpine boat soap and woody wax. That is what we use to keep the bright work on the sport fishing yachts pristine. most of the bright work is either anodized or powder coated or both. I hate cleaning up salt spray.

Oops I mis-spoke earlier. It's not the salt itself that is corrosive, it's the hydrogen oxide created from the mixture of water, chloride and carbon dioxide.
Dry salt sprinkled on your chassis by itself isn't an issue unless there is moisture in the air.
Thanks for the tip John!

King sport grey
Same color as my steering shaft, pedal assemblies and other misc bits. Will be doing my interior panels in the same color too

Spend quite a bit of time trying to figure out the top hat spacers. At first I assumed the taller set was for the front but it looks like they are actually for the rear. No matter what orientation I made them, they didn't fit up front. Unless I'm supposed to change the orientation of the stock top hats??
So then the next question is which side which one fits. The spacers aren't flat. They are beveled which I'm assuming to keep the geometry. If that's the case, would the taller side of the spacer face the outside of the car?

I'll have the same question when mine come in the mail next week. I can help with one aspect though. This is from Warren in the GRM forum:
"The Exocet's tophat mounts are taller than in a Miata by 1.8" in the front and 1.2" in the rear."
I would then assume that the taller spacers should be fitted to the front.

The taller hats have three mounting holes which seem to line up with the 3 holes on the rear chassis mount though. That's why I'm thinking they go back there.
Guess we will find out soon.

Not sure if they fixed this yet or not. If not get 20mm long bolts and put it in reverse of how it is in my pic. You also have to have them 1/2 threaded onto the top hats when mounting them to the car.

Okay so the shorter ones go in the rear with the "double hole" side facing the gas tank. Basically the taller side faces the outside of the car I caught that issue with the bolts earlier. The hardware provided I believe is only 20mm long. A lot shorter than the cad plated bolt in your pic.
So now I'm wondering if I need to turn the orientation of the front strut top hat to make the spacer line up with the chassis.

I got mine when there was no hardware included and told them it needed to be a 20mm or they need to change the hole location on the rear =P

Jeez ... Kevin / Warren at Exomotive, can YOU post pics of how these are supposed to be installed on your webpage or failing that, here ?

I think a simple emboss lettering FL, FR, RL, RR with an arrow pointing towards the front of the car would make it idiot-proof.
