That's good then. Other forums have spoken of putting a silver top on as the plastic rocker covers can't be sprayed. Obviously you've proved that myth wrong I am only going on what I have been told, so I would go the more proven route if your spending out, as it did not cost me anything. The chap that sprayed it for me develops his own paint systems for himself and to re-sell, so he should know what he is talking about !! If it fails I will get the silver top unit done but it should be fine.

Not been a very productive x-mas period on the car due to illness from boxing day to pretty much yesterday, but still made some good decisions and progress to get the engine bay done. I had decided to go down the cold air route with the air filter. So drilled the hole in the rear bulk head to take the inlet: The next challenge is to get pipework from the inlet, to the air filter (silver round unit under plenum) then to the supercharger inlet. I have a route to take so this will be next job.

Have positioned and fitted the oil coolers - one for the engine oil and one for the supercharger oil: Need to get the flexi pipes made now to connect it all together

Made use of the 4 ton of cardboard left over from the Christmas present boxes and mocked up a header tank. Will take this now to be fabricated. Also was able to position the oil catch tank:

I just look at your build every day with envy.
Do you have an estimate for your build costs or is it top secret in case the mrs finds out ?

Hi mabbs
Like most readers, I love every detail of your car, it has raised the rocket bar considerably. I am so pleased to see that our cars have a couple of details in common, our catch tank is the same and the air inlet is in the same position... I just wish some other details were the same.
That £10k has gone a long way!
Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh

Having a challenging time trying to get the route to the supercharger tho with the space available !! Have you an in-line filter also ? Jon

Thanks Mabbs
Up until recently I had added an inlet a lot like yours and fed it to a Car Builder Solutions inline air filter and from there to the standard Ford Plenum before it went to the standard Ford 1.6l engine (nothing like yours). It was a cheap way to get the most out of that system, getting cold air in at slightly higher pressure.
My daughter and I made a few water manometers and did some test runs to check that the pressure was higher behind the seats. Once we confirmed that it was the 'F duct' (as Nigel called it) was fitted.
From the out side it looks a bit like yours - on the inside i doubt we share a single component - curse my humble budget.
I have recently changed my induction system quite a lot. I'll be posting details in a few weeks once each of this years winter mods are completed.
Good luck with the plumbing to get it all connected. I used the large red/brown reinforced ducting hose from CBS.
Cheers

Got a few bits turned-around quickly this week so found a couple of hours to fit them this afternoon ;D Made a bracket for the accelerator throttle body linkage as Jenvey do not make one !!?? Once assembled with cable connected I found the return not as prompt and fast as I would like. Luckily I know of a local spring manufacturer: Now works perfectly

The start of the cold air inlet pipework : Should be able to get it all marked-up ready for cutting and final weld this week end. This week-ends main job is trimming and bonding the carbon fibre bucket seats together and fitting them to the car
