I know I'll get my wrists slapped for posting this here and not in the technical section, but I think it's very important and everyone should know when things get easier, suppose the thread will be moved in time. Anyone worked out what all the important changes are in the latest version of the Manual How about this big'ie "Note 5: Bias bars and other mechanical adjusting devices fitted to twin master cylinders must be rendered inoperable by mechanical means e.g. lockwiring of components." nigel

hmm, lockwiring must be easier than welding the length of the balance bar?!!! ....or am I missing the point? Ol

That means that you don't have to destroy the tread as well, it will be a lot easier to do :-) also means that a later date can adjust if necessary ;-)
I hope that I am understanding this correctly as I am setting up the brakes this weekend.

Just done a compare of the latest IVA guide. Only really looked at the big areas. This will no doubt be ongoing as others find changes. Note 6 is the big disappointment for me.
09B Service Brake Control
Note 5: Bias bars and other mechanical adjusting devices fitted to twin master cylinders must be rendered inoperable by mechanical means e.g. lockwiring of components.
Note 6: Adjusting front/rear brake bias may invalidate approval and breach Construction and Use requirements.
27. Vehicles fitted with adjustable twin master cylinders that have been rendered inoperable by mechanical means to comply with RS 26 must have a label affixed on the master cylinder or the immediate vicinity with legible text as detailed in note 6.
So Note 5 and section 27 look much more reasonable then welding the bias bar up. BUT Note 6 and the requirement for a label on the master cylinder effectively means if you retro fit a working bias adjuster, the cars not fit for purpose. Traffic cops could give you a hard time and it would be a great excuse for insurance companies to invalidate insurance if you have a prang...
Exterior Projections Figure 5... Yee ha. At least some good news. Items within the area covered by wishbones are exempt.. No issues now with silly bits of tube around the bottom of the spring platforms or nuts on the hub! Still need a proper cover over track rod ends..
FOG LIGHTS Lots of new diagrams. Basically just like in a production car, rear fog light must only come on when the dip or main beams are on. Little bit of extra wiring needed here. If you add fronts, its a real nightmare..
