Hi Matt, I used Sikaflex 221 and was amazed how well it stuck. I wanted the holes in the wings really flush with the support rods so there was a tendency for the wings to spring up a bit. There's a pic on my build thread but I put a line of Sikaflex on the wing and pushed the wing stay into it and then covered down the side and over the top. Put a weight on top of the wing to hold it horizontal until it had gone off and it won't go anywhere now.
I used normal clear sealant on the floor.
Cheers, Rik,

The one I bought today, Matt, was Sikaflex EBT (black) which, according to the blurb on the container, seems to do everything required for secure mudguard fixing. It was £8.35 from ScrewFix, although is probably available cheaper online... Hi Media
I may be wrong but it might be worth double checking it's the correct one. I have looked up EBT and the ebay seller I saw said it is based on Silicone. I thought the Sikaflex used by most car builders is PU based. That said I am only repeating what I have read on Locost forum etc while trying to work this mystery out, I have no other knowledge of these products. I think there is something similar called Tiger seal, I think I read that Slugshot said he used Tiger seal too.
Hope you don't mind me saying but I would hate for you to run into difficulties.
Matt

Hi Matt,
According to the packaging, Sikaflex EBT bonds to concrete, brick, mortar, wood, metals, glass, resins and plastics. It says it's a high performance, permanently elastic flexible adhesive, sealant and filler which is waterproof, non-sag and high-grab. Can't see any mention of silicone, but I guess only time will tell whether it's man enough for the Trike application or not!

Hmmm...not quite sure why adding a further deflector to what's already there would send air into the driver's face. But, hey, I'm not privy to the results of RTR's extensive wind tunnel testing research!! Being quite tall, I think maybe I should also look at getting lower in the vehicle (my head is above the height of the roll bar!). My TR1ke is currently fitted with comfortable, but quite thick, Cobra seats. Switching to a thin, GRP alternative would get me more down behind the existing fairing, and save some weight, too! What sort of seats have you got? Padded seats aren't a good idea if you're tall unless you have neck muscles like Tyson or will be driving slowly The vertical screen will deflect the wind blast higher than the screen itself so doesn't have to be as tall as a bike screen that only deflects the blast as high as the top edge, unless you have a flip up at the top edge like a touring bike. My screen also splats all the bugs that would otherwise cover my visor which is nice.

Couldn't see any reference to silicone & there isn't much that isn't listed on the list of what it sticks to. Good luck with the fix. I hope it goes well!
