Hello Flyn
Welcome to this source of information and inspiration. Feel free to ask questions, but it's also well worth down loading the IVA manual and reading the DVLA website, it will save a lot of typing as many questions will be sorted by a small amount of reading.
If you are buying in August, I look forward to seeing your car at Stonleigh next year.
Cheers

Cheers, Ol Cheers, done lots of reading up on here already, but still got loads of questions Hi flynn, Welcome to this part of the world... As mightlylad said theres always someone on here who can help. glad to see someone in my neck of the woods building a rocket also! (im in chesterfield ) Ade Nice one bud, seen yor build thread. Would love to know how to go about fitting the ST170? Can you use the box off the 1.8??? Hello Flyn Welcome to this source of information and inspiration. If you are buying in August, I look forward to seeing your car at Stonleigh next year. Cheers Mattsmev Thanks, brought some cars over from Japan in the past, so familar with SVA. Not so familar with building a kit though. Im sure it will be interesting Welcome Flynn, Fine choice of car to build. Any sneeky hints as to what colour and engine your using? I think mattsmev is doubting your ability, see you at stafford ;D Will Not too sure on the colour scheme yet, but it'll be lairy. Engine wise, again, need to do some reading. Will the ST170 fit onto the 1.8 box? Would love to get a forced induction engine in it but I guess the ST 2.5 is a little too big, or major mods required..

i think a yellow chassis with black panels would look awesome ;D
st170 has/is been done - theres a couple of build threads in the rocket/sonic sections.

Hi Again Flyn
I certainly was not doubting you ability, but instead of the ST170, why not be the first with the lighter ST150 engine? As for colour, i think any shade of orange is best.
Cheers

I have just fitted an ST170 engine in a Sonic and it was easy. Came with standard 2.0 mounts on chassis and the ST engine just dropped in. You cannot use the original manifold but I bought an aftermarket 4-1 manifold. Wiring is different BUT if I managed, anyone can. I also wrote up the colour/pin combinations and having expected it to be a pig, the car fired up first time and all the wiring was right.
If you are up for a challenge the all alloy duratec would be interesting. It's supposed to be easily tunable to 200 hp plus...
Any questions, just ask.
Stuart
