A few years ago started a kit car conversion, then got married so away it went. At the time looked into converting it to electric drive.
This looks like a cracking little project. When looking into converting the kit car to electric drive did quite a lot of research into motors, it did look like the Lemco motor with suitable controller was the best compromise between weight and power. Suitable controllers for these Permanent magnet motors also allow regen braking.
The major problem is range and unless I win the lottery it wont be lithium Ion type batteries!
Not bought the plans yet, but can it be modified to use disc brakes all round instead of drum? Looking at possible options and somewhere that can supply and weld up the chassis, as I'm garbage at welding.
This could well be my next project, look forward to seeing some photos of the body.
Cheers
Ian
