Following a visit to RTR to look at a secondhand TRIke, and a torrential rain storm that 'stopped play', I'm looking for some kind soul to offer me a test ride in their TRike; I just need to get a feel for what these machines are like on the road, before I can finally make up my mind about buying one.
So, is there a TR1ke-owning member in souther England/Midlands area who would be prepared to take me for a spin (not literally!)? I live in East Sussex, but am obviously prepared to drive to your house, or meet you somewhere in-between. Whatever suits you.
Any chance of doing something this coming weekend (July 27-28th)?
Regards,
Chris

My advise: Skip your ratio and follow your emotion.... Buy / build one.

For the fun factor and a small investment in the scheme of things, this is a great bit of kit. What else can you buy that does 0-70 MPH in 4 secs in 1st gear.
If you want to be different buy the TR1KE
I considered a stack of Reverse Trikes before I bought this one.
Grinnall Scorpian Terrible handling, corners are deadly due to centre of gravity, seating position. BMW1200 engine Campagna T-Rex $58,000 seriously? Holy Crap, I think not Kawasaki ZZR 1400 engine
They were the only ones that appealed to me, there are many others, but I wanted something as close to the T-Rex as possible.
My trike stands me at £12,500 due to a replacement engine.
You can build a trike for as little as £8000 depending on your donor bike.
You would normally spend £14K on a new R1 Big Bang series.
You can't buy anything for £8000 that accelerates like this. You are having to pay Porsche money for this acceleration.
Try and get a ride out in the Orange trike in Bristol. You will be hooked, make sure you take spare pants along, he is an utter nutcase :-)

I agree, there seems precious little else that delivers the same kind of 'bang for your buck' as the tR1ke. I've been looking at the Westfield Megabusa and, although they are certainly quick, finding a decent one that hasn't been thrashed half to death on the track, is tricky, especially for £10K.
I'm in touch with Paul in Bristol and, hopefully, will get down there at some point this weekend for a ride.

That's a bit cruel of you, Tony!! Fortunately I'm sure your car is beyond my budget!

Hi All,
Happy to report that yesterday I spent a very enjoyable hour or so in the company of Paul from Bristol, and his awesome TR1ke. A very impressive machine that he ably demonstrated for me!
A fantastic experience which has gone a long way to making up my mind for me. It's now just a matter of working out the finances! :-)
