Hi, Very much already has been answered on this forum.
Easier is to use the search option. (Anyhow, similar questions have already been answered in this lead: "wheel and tire size question")

Hi Bluecob, This question puzzled me for a long time and it took me quite some time to find out what RTR used on their demo tR1ke. Many starter questions you may come up you will find an answer in this thread: www.mevowners.proboards.com/thread/2135/msva-related-information-starters-netherlandsTake your time reading our well documented build threads which were a great help for my build. There are many ways to build a tR1ke and it is good to know what options have been made before grinding good luck! Erik

I've for a 205/40/17 Yokohama r888 but as I'm not on the road I can't comment on how well it works, should be good for dry weather and I find RTR can be a bit flaky on replying to e mails,

Hi Andy, Thanks for that info also, yeh, don't want to start anything but just a reply would do specialy when people like our self's keep them in business, anyway don't matter now all I need to do is ask you guys! Many thanks a RTR's support is minimal as ever and you will need this forum to make your car pass MVSA. Marketing wise there are many ways to boost up sales but after paying a visit to RTR yesterday I noticed they are a very small company with typical growing pains and having a steep learning curve at this moment. Their office is basically 2 desks and 2 chairs so very low overhead costs and it is very clear they do lack capacity to support the forum. Unfortunately this forum is about building kitcars and not about improvements of business concepts and marketing. Could have been quite interesting subject tough

I put a budget tire on mine, well I have budget tires all round on mine. I decided just in case I had set tracking out that I didn't want to scrub expensive tires, so fitted Nankang NS2 on the front £55 each fitted, and a Primo on the back, only because I wanted a V pattern to fall in line with the symmetrical look to the trike. This was also £55 fitted
I have found the tires to be very good, and I have 4 Nankangs on my Renault, I got 55,000 miles out of the last set, which I consider to be very good indeed.
They grip well, maybe not as well as Yokohama in and out of corners? However They grip well enough for me, the rear tire is hardly worn nearly 2000 miles later.
I am more than happy with my choice. I suppose it all comes down to how much track use you are doing?
All my tires are 205/40/17
Hope this helps
Nick

I have Dunlop Sportmaxx at the front, think they are fitted for life cause they wear very slow. But they have enough grip, it is easier to lift a wheel then to slide away in corners. At the rear a Toyo Proxes 888, and after about 5000 km it is worn quite a lot. My own fault, they are the best when they get warm and then they wear less (less wheelspin). With 180 bhp it's not strange it wears quickly I guess... Especially with my kind of road behaviour ;D All sizes are 205/40-17.

I have 15in yokohama track day tyres on the front for as much grip as possible, I had planned to experiment with other brands but as Rik said the fronts don't wear quickly
On the rear I have a choice of 2 wheels, 1 fitted with a 888 for track days and the other std road tyre for every day use.
The 888 is worn passed the wear markers after 1500 miles of mainly fast A+B road fun.
The Vredstein road tyre has so far covered 3000 miles and has lots of tread left, its obviously not as gripy as the 888 but for the road its great.
