I had mine on a trackday 2 weeks ago and to be honest i was a bit disapointed with the performance given the weight loss. Its a 1.8 and its running sweet certainly no way its 0 - 60 in 5 secs. I am goin to get timing checked. I would say its something similar to my mk3 2 litre mx5. It was not as quick as my mates standard integra type r on the straights. Deffo needs my supercharger fitted

Try setting the timing at 14deg jump the Ten and Grd before adjusting and up to op temp..This will give better low end pull.. How heavy is your wheel tire set up..

Hi, you should be able to walk all over an Integra, they drive the front wheels!!! The standard 1.8 is around 130 bhp, the one in the video below had done 130k and was standard. Later we skimming the head by 50 thou to increased the compression ratio and gained nearly 10bhp. It would be a good idea to replace the rad with a large alloy one if going this route as it may tend to run hotter.(available for £100 on ebay). I would strongly recommend that you change that rubber belt that makes the valves go up and down too. The engine is non interference as standard so if the belt snaps it does not cause your wallet to empty, BUT with the head skim it could be a bad day if the teeth rip off the belt. There are tougher head gaskets available too. That said it would be sensible to do a comp check to make sure it is good before you start mods. The best the japs had to offer were no match for our fairly well worn Exocet in the clip below. The music makes it look fast too. Turn it up!!

The last time i was running my heavy alloys and poor tyres. The alignment is getting done on friday then i will run my light alloys and track tyres as i am going to another track day next monday. I will jump gnd and ten and set the timing to 14° and see what difference that makes. Maybe i am not being fair as my daily driver is a quick Impreza Turbo

That was the first thing i did on my car and advance the ignition timing. I very noticeable difference at the low end. I am currently giving the car a break and fittign new gaskets, filters and belts.
Just to make sure mind.

You replaced the timing belt.. If you are still running slow after timing adjust recheck the marks for TDC on crank and cam gears to line up to the marks. Alignment being off will hold you back some. Have you checked your rear brakes for drag.. Throttle cable adjusted for tension do you have full throttle at the throttle body with gas pedal to the floor?? Clutch pedal adjusted to right free play 10mm if no free play clutch will slip some.. Have you checked fuel pressure at full throttle.

Time for some checking. How do you check fuel pressure at full throttle?

you can check pump pressure with pressure gage in supply hose and front of fuel rail.. jump Fp and Gnd key on 31 to 46 psi.. then start car looking for 31 to 38psi.. for full out put pressure of pump put gage in supply hose and plug the output of the gage do the jump again key on looking for 60 to 85 psi..

my Exocet weighs in at 660kg with nearly no fuel and no driver. with me and fuel it is only 760kg (70+30)
using GPS, I managed to get a 6.5s to 60 and 0-80 in 12.5s. 1/4 mile was in 14.5 at 88.93. I recon 100 would have been 3 seconds later as it was still pulling hard. all of course on a private road.
My Exocet has the 16. Eunos 114bhp engine, cone filter and straight through SS exhaust.
These figures and the power to weight ratio match up with the S2000 and Type-r Civic , so i have no reason to doubt them.
It is also significantly faster than the MK2 1.8iS i have just purchased, with a possible view for an engine swap ;-)

I drove my friends 1.8 mx5 that he has just bought. (He took the exocet for a drive and 2days later had a fresh 1.8 to convert) it is amazing to see the difference. He is very very slow and sluggish compared with the kit.

He should be slower.. You drop 1/3 of the weight with the kit.. What was the tune and condition of the old engine..

Just checked my last race at Combe. From a standing start and manual stopwatch 0-60 comes in at ~6 seconds. This is a race Exocet and was weighed in at 830kg (full roll cage, race fuel and me in race kit) Hit 115mph before braking into Avon Rise as well

The janspeed exhaust I had on my exo was very quiet so changing to a much louder exhaust gives the impression you are goin a lot quicker . Changing to this exhaust and I thought flip this thing is flying but in reality its no quicker.

Hmm. Our American frames are a bit heavier than the M-Style ones in the UK, and we weighed XP-3 with a full tank, wings, and fluids at 1515lbs (690kg). The wings and mounts weigh exactly as much as the passenger seat and harness, so as it sits with a half tank, it should be right at 1500lbs.
I ended up testing 0-60 accidentally while playing with the launch control, and I got multiple runs at 3.9 seconds. As someone that's done 0-60 in 2.7 before, I genuinely believe we can get XP-3 down to 3.0 flat or better.
We've got very used race slicks on the car now, and they're heat cycled so deep they feel like rocks. The springs are way too stiff (325 lb/in rear), and the camber is way too much (the Spec Miata guys set it up like a Spec Miata, which weighs 1000lbs more).
With a properly tuned turbo system putting out 252whp, these things are pretty quick.
