So one piece of information I was always trying to find when look at the kit was the performance figures on the final car. So I have done some testing with mine and the is what I get.
Final weight - 718kg This was not the lightweight kit but it did have the fibreglass seats, some lightweight alloys, a custom 2.5in exhaust and the 57i induction kit. Apart from that everything else is either standard by mev or from the original car
The below where not done very scientifically but with me filming the speedo and then getting a time from that.
94' 1.8 mk1 donor
0-60mph 5.3 sec
0-100mph 16.8 sec
I will say that I does feel quick as long as your below 70. Then you do start to have a problem with the lack of power.

well done for getting some figures, i know a lot of people have been wondering!
i was hoping for around 5 seconds so thats good to hear. considering how exposed the exocet is i dont think i’ll be doing over 70-80 much on public roads so i’m happy to quote 5 seconds down the pub!

Good post. Very interesting. Anyone taken an Exocet to Santa Pod? Would be a good test.

718 is the kerb weight. Taking the car to Northampton Motorsport to sort out the new suspension. So there will be some cornering improvement. But as it stand it takes corners quicker than most cars. Got a friend with a 57 plate exige that I kept up with through the bends.

We were lucky enough to have Autocar Magazine here in NZ run a feature on the Exocet in this months mag.
They used their GPS speed-test equipment and our bog-standard, unmodified 1600 (weighing in at 680kg) managed 0-62 mph (100kmh) in 7.5 seconds. Dunno how much of the original 115 HP there was left in this 150,000 km engine...
He also said he reckoned he could have wrung another 0.3 out of it, if he wasn't being at all mechanically sympathetic.
The next car will be 1800 with a Link ECU and a decent 4-2-1 manifold...

mine was 730kg without a driver the earlier kits were heavier i believe (mine is 43) later ones have extra holes drilled in various places to make them lighter

Good post. Very interesting. Anyone taken an Exocet to Santa Pod? Would be a good test. i have been up there but not on the strip as i didnt have arm restraints which are required for open vehicles

I am surprised at your lack of speed over 70, I Have to show a lot of restraint in my 1.6 115bhp engined Exocet, at 70 it just wants to take off again in 5th like it does in 1-4th.
