I feel that the above "non MEV" images should be posted on other general forums, I will have a word with the management. Mind you if Nigel took so many non MEV pictures he must be interested in Cobras and 7's, how weird is that!

No not just Cobras and 7's but all things automotive Stuart, or should I call you "Mr Fix It" now. Started reading your book "Design and Build a Sports Car" will post my review in the near future.

Now that's something I would be interested in, MX5 based with the ability to use a V6 or bigger engine.
Could possibly keep the Rocket as well.

Not sure why I should be put forward as a Cobra supplier, there are lots of firms doing that market to death. I only work in niche markets, sorry guys but you may be buying a non MEV Cobra if that is what floats your boat. I do not consider the 7 or the Cobra competition at all Nige, hope you enjoy the read.

I only work in niche markets, sorry guys but you may be buying a non MEV Cobra if that is what floats your boat. I do not consider the 7 or the Cobra competition at all Nige, hope you enjoy the read. I can only think of about 3 real commercial reasons to justify embarking on a new product 1. do something that is not already available but wanted 2. do something better than already available 3. do something cheaper than already available or some combination of the above. In terms of the kit car market you can see how MEV products comply I would think a new Cobra kit is excluded on points 1. Unless you did something strange (like an mx5 based cobra) and likely to be unpopular. 2. Cobra kits are now hugely developed with a wide choice of established suppliers and are about as good a replica kits get. 3. Probably not viable as even long term existing manufactures are struggling for margins The same applies to 7 types Consider the Rocket, Exocet, Mevster all make sense when assesed against points 1,2 or 3 The DBR1 was an inspired choice to try the replica market as it has all the potential of the Cobra market without the cobra markets oversupply. I expect several other dbr1 type period replicas will appear over the next 2 years as some of the existing Cobra and 7 manufacturers try to widen their offer in a depressed market. All my own opinion of course so it would be interesting to hear any counter arguments

Apologies for taking this post off topic I have mixed emotion over the decision not to make a cobra styled mx5 based kit.. Partly gutted that id have to go with another manufacturer if i wanted to do it, and also very glad this may not happen for the following reason:- I dont have to explain to the wife, why, after a years build, im selling my rocket, and buying another kit car.

Did anyone have a good look at the work of the Water Transfer Printing?
Was thinking of using it for my bulkheads, tunnel etc. as an alternative to carbon wrap.

It does look good but can be expensive compared to the vinyl wrap. Can also be limited to size of item you want to do. I looked at doing my 4 wings and was quoted £250 and they couldn't do my rear spoiler because it was too long.
May be different in your neck of the woods.
