Hey Ads, Perfect timing, just gotten home form a run out in it today, the new rad is working a treat, stuck in traffic, slow moving and spirited driving. It's running slightly cooler than it used too but not by too much. The only thing is we need to put a warmer switch in the rad for the fan. Once it gets hot enough to kick the fan in, it never gets cool enough again to switch the fan off. We've another switch, 10 degrees hotter, I cannot remember what the figures are correctly right now. I think the new one will kick it in at 92 degrees and off at 82. Was great though to be out and about in all linda of general situations and not worrying about it over heating The pump is working fine, I did have some concerns about it but had it explained to me, that all I've actually done is increase the size of the reservoir. I just have to get my fuel sender unit properly calibrated in with the gauge now, as I ran out of petrol 200 yards from the bloody station today ha ha

A good run out yesterday, learnt a little lesson yesterday too. When we stopped to take these pictures, I just left the ignition on. The fan and lights were on and I left it like this for only a few minutes. We then drove on to the next town, only a couple of miles. We got stuck at some road works and sat at the lights, the fan was doing a great job and busa sat at temperature lovely. I started fiddling though and thought i'd try my new engine kill switch. Lights turn to green and the bloody thing only wouldn't bas***d start again. Had the whole centre of town at a stand still ha ha ha. Completely flat battery. Quite a surprise just how quick the lights and fan drained the battery. Off to hunt out my battery tester!

At least it's not too heavy to push What battery are you running, the one from the Busa?

At least it's not too heavy to push What battery are you running, the one from the Busa? Ha ha yeah your right, easily just bumped it up the curb and took refuge in the pub beer garden across the street. Luckily was heading home anyway and wasn't too far from home, so my brother just shot over with the jump leads for me. So it didn't dampen the day at all really. It is running the original bike battery at present, so not sure of it's age. I'll probably look at changing it over the winter when I start tinkering again but for now it's took a full charge and will do me for now, I just won't leave the ignition on for anytime again.

Good work, I was debating going with a lithium battery from the off, but I'm a long way from starting the electrics yet so thanks for the confirmation on what you're running.

Hello mate Looks like the overheating issues sorted with the addition of alloy rad. Think ill have to put one on my list to santa. You manage to get to croft, be interested to know how you found it, any issues etc..... Best regards matt Hey Matt, Yeah the busa's temperature is not a worry at all now with the new rad, I've a warmer switch to put in because at the minute once the fan cuts in it never gets cold enough again to switch back off. Not an issue though, the new warmer switch will sort that. It's defo something I wish I'd done from the off. Unfortunately I never got to croft, it turns out I cannot hire a trailer with my licence. They want you to have full trailer classification, whereas I've just a standard class B licence. I can legally tow a trailer as long as all combined doesn't exceed 3.5 tons. I'm missing another croft track day today but I've still not manage to secure even the use of a trailer and purchasing one locally had a 14 week lead time. Gutted!!!! I know I could have just driven it down before everyone jumps in. I'm wanting to trailer though with some tools and fluids for any unforeseen issues. I want to be able to track it to it's full potential, be able to kill some tires and brake pads and not have to worry about being legal to drive it home. The only other issue I've had was the steering always seemed a little sloppy, turns out for some reason during my IVA work the steering column universal joint was loosened. We know for sure this was tight before hand. Anyways, we've since tightened it back up properly and now the thing changes direction like a house fly.

Well the salts starting to be washed away and the sun is starting to shine in the North East, so thought it about time to get the busa all sorted ready for some action. Here we've finally put the steering wheel extension in and wired the paddles through the slip ring so the paddles now turn with the steering. It was supposed to be like this from the start but one of those jobs that once through the IVA got postponed. The decat pipe has been put back in for now, I'll put the cat back in to lower the exhaust db if I manage to get to a track day this year but for now it's coming out, as you really can feel the difference with it in. Additionally I've also finally fitted my gear indicator/TRE and have set the TRE to the recommended 5th gear map for a gsx1300r. Along with this, we've also plugged into the FI-tuner and have installed a map i got off of their website. This should be a good starting point. I am not sure exactly what was done to the busa to get it through it's emissions on the IVA, I was told the map had been strangled, how they've done that I am not exactly sure. If the configuration we've done now doesn't work to well, I have a spare ECM where I should be able to start from scratch. I haven't had it out for a run yet but started and there's a definite difference in the note, even before I removed the cat. VERY excited to run it down the road now and see how she goes.
At the moment I've just used the downloadable map for a standard gsx1300r, the more I think about it though the more I am thinking I'll change it to the one for none standard air filters and exhaust.
