When making the air intake pipe for the 1.8 zetec in a sonic is it the standard 68mm downpipe fittings that are used, as these seem a smaller bore than the origonal intake pipe, also are there any other ways of making a low profile intake. Cheers Jonathan.

I used standard downpipe fittings and pipe. Brought them at either B&Q or Wickes. I did add an extra screw or two on various joints while the adhesive was setting to ensure it stayed exactly where I wanted it.

Hi Jonathan
I did the same as avantkiwi with the down pipe and elbow. I will take a photo tomorrow if I get a chance. Are you going to have a build thread with some photo's to let us see your progress.
Cheers Andy

Hi Jonathan A few photo's of my intake pipe. I have used 1 90 elbow 1 45 elbow and a Small section of down pipe. I also used part of the old intake to connect to the throttle body. the rest came with the induction kit. Hope this helps Andy

I an not saying it needs it but if you thought it needed to look more Motorsport there is a company called Argon Creative in Gateshead who can carbon-fibre wrap the pipe in real carbon to make it stronger and looking like one piece. Mind you I would not bother but that's me. Sorry to hijack the thread
