How easy they are to build? How long they take to build? And how much it will cost to get road legall? Thanks help will be very appreciated

Hi Dylan, hope you get more replies on your question, just read the threads mate, save your pennies and live your dreams. There's plenty on the road now, and the forum will give you all the info you need. Take a look at mine and red 5's plus others. Stevieboy

Hi Dylan,
I think there is a mix up as there aren't many eTrikes finished on the road, although plenty of plans sold,, from what I have seen you may struggle with £2000 as the motor and controllers can be expensive! Not to mention the battery packs!!! Maybe you could do a ped Trike, ie a scooter powered version??? May work out cheaper??
Hope that helps Scott

Hi Scott,
Thanks I've been looking for hours and hours on alternatives to a mopead and just can't find anything! When this came up I thought it could work but I knew it would be very difficult. Could you send me a link to a ped trike I'm just trying to find anything to drive bar a mopead.
Thanks Dylan

Hi Dylan,
There is no link! Just a thought Stuart Mills mention once before about building a eTrike chassis but convert it to take a 50cc moped engine!!!!
Alternatively a Eco-Exo with a 125cc fitted which I believe you can drive on your CBT bike licence (You would need confirm this though)

A bit late I know, but as far as costs are concerned, you are looking at:
Quad bike bits £300-500 Steel for frame £70 Front wheels and pit bike bits £150 Motor, controller imported from the US£1300 Batteries £360 Electrical bits £150 Paint, seat, sheet aluminium and fasteners £150 Speedometer £60 MSVA test £104 Brake pipes £100
total £2944
Plus lots of other sundries I had "lying around" , scrap from work etc.
What I have learnt:
Use square tube for the main frame Try to get the same quadbike suspension as Stuart had, I thought I was being clever by using something else the modifications cost me more in the long run. I might have tried the 50cc route as it gives unlimited range for much less cost, but it is nearly done now so I will see what the actual range is.
