Hi everyone! Back after a long while - turns out my hello post was October 2010!!
So I've been lurking and dreaming for longer than I expected - mainly due to changing career paths and the financial hole that is a new house!
I'm still very much interested in the MEV kits, and do aim to get one in the next few years (but again this has slipped massively due to the new outgoings!)
Just had a question about engines that nobody seems to have considered yet.
The new, shiny Focus now sports a 1 litre engine that is tiny and very light, yet produces as good if not better BHP than the older 1.6.
Now, would this be a good idea for a Rocket do you think? I'm thinking for budget purposes perhaps the PSA groups little 3 cylinder might be better, albeit non-turbo'd.
I'd think this would be a good alternative to the 1.6, if it'll fit!
(also I'm a fan of the 3 cylinder rasp from when I used to have my C1!)

The new ford 1.0 engine is very different to the old 3 cylinder petrol engines, it has direct petrol injection running at 125 bar pressure, it's twin variable valve timing and turbo charged, the engine comes in two power outputs 105 and 125 bhp and has a millions and one sensors an very complicated engine management, I think a normal 1.0 engine wouldn't work as its just so gutless the new engine drives very well in both outputs and other than the noise you really cannot tell.
