I was going to put this in tech but it didn't really have a home. Has anyone used a hydraulic hand brake? Are they legal for iva or does it need to be a secondary non hydraulic system indipendant of the normal. looking at pics of the hispecs, they look like they have small mechanical pistons on actuators to push out the pads to bind on the disc.
Any info would be appreciated as im now in planning and purchasing phase

im sure i have read somewhere that the hand brake has to be independant and mechanical incase a leak over night = loss of hand brake = disaster

yeah i have stripped back the focus calipers with a drill and wire bristle, ill order a seal pack and powder coat them. then swap out for proper brakes when testing is passed. some nice 4 pots should do the trick with a wrc upright handbrake

I used the Willwoods on the back with the integral handbrake and seems to work nicely but had to modify the rear uprights but they look so much better than the old focus ones that was why i went for them

they are pricy and not as powerful as i want when im up and running at full power, im led to believe that they are a 2 piston setup, and ill want a 4 pot, ill just run a splitter from the brakes to the pedal and handbrake master. the focus will suffice for now.
