Hi all, I was just making a list of parts to order and I want to order indicator led lights but i am not sur how many resistors I am in need for. Doing math on electronics is my weakest spot. i hope somebody may show me some math. Basically this is my problem: The Tr1ke needs 3 indicators per side and the R1 loom has 2 indicators per side. The on/off cycle time must be affected due to a different load of the relais. I want to use LED indicators and lights only and adding a resistor in series in front of the LED will load the relais identical as light bulbs. Am I in need for 3 leds per side and 2 resistors per side to make the relais work properly (because the load of 2Leds+2 resistors+1 additional LED may be very close to 2 lightbulbs) . I recon swapping the lightbulb relais (2 lights) for a LED relais (3 lights) isn't working either. I just don't fancy going the trial and error route and really appreciate any input to keep my shopping list not too long Thanks in advance, Erik

I messed about for a day with resistors. Getting nowhere fast I decided to buy the R1 LED relay. Cost £20. The best money I've spent. Fixed the flashing speed all in one. Don't waste your time with resistors. Just get the appropriate R1 Relay. Job done.

Oh yeah,
I try and run everything on LED, much faster cleaner operation, as long as you use proper LED lights, and not just bulbs. My front indicators are Oxford LED, rear lights are currently all in one Cheeseburger lights, put on initially for MSVA, I had also fitted all in one strip led lights, however I love the look and brightness they give. The problem with LED bulbs is that they do not use the reflector in a standard lamp enough, so unless directly looking into the lamp, they will not be very clear.
I will be converting my front sidelights to white LED once I get a pair I had thought about LED headlights, but my dealer says they are crap. I like honest dealers like that hahahaha.

I had those lovely looking double oval headlights on before with my own integrated LED white sidelights, however I really do like the ones RTR have fitted, the 4" Dominator lights look neat and tidy, and above all, work....

It is just an aftermarket item. It is only 19 euro. I will get one as soon as I don't forget to bring my wallet along with me .

Is it the indicators you want or the Relay to make them flash correct?
Motrax (No gone into liquidation) have quite a few on eBay UK still, they are about £20, spot on, un clip the old relay, this one is made for the R1 loom, make sure you buy the correct year one, clip this into your plug, no cutting wires, no messing, job done. Whether its using Hazards or separate indicators, they all flash at the correct MSVA pass speed.
For me, as much lighting on LED as possible, apart from my headlights, everything else is ultra bright, Type E4 approved LED, the only thing you need a relay for are the indicators, everything else is a direct bulb or unit replacement for wiring.
