tR1ke has ben delivered by cargo truck at our MEV distributor today. Seemed to be the cheapest, fastest and stress free option for transportation.
It'll take some time to get her on dutch plates. I guess by then it'll make sense to find a way to insure her.
Hope to make my 1st trip in about a few weeks.
br, Erik

Thx! Bas will convert the tr1ke to Dutch plates so I am pretty confident additional fees will be close to nihill.
No clue what and where the registration number is stamped into my chasis LOL!!!

It's already in the chasis. I'll use hammerite to seal it. 2-3 coats.

Hmmm.... I called to RTR yesterday. Julie told me they weren't able to send me the documents because they haven't received them yet. It appeared many little VOSA offices have been closed and a few larger ones remain in the UK but are underpowered for the time being. Paul is working hard to deal with this issue.
Right now all hope left to get her on the road in 2013 is gone. I would be very pleased if I could make small trips/tests in september/oktober but it feels like mid april 2014 will be more realistic now. As for now the tR1ke is still untouched at Bas's place and it looks like it isn't going anywhere exept home if Bas needs his space for business. Even the worst case scenari one could think of is coulding my head which is lost of documents somewhere in the pipeline. I hope not to bring the tR1ke back to RTR for an other approval.
Basically the tR1ke is finished early February 2013 (I started this thread at feb 2012) and I fear it'll take 14 months to get her on the road in april 2014 . The riddle remains the same: patience

Hi Erik That's a real shame, what exactly are you waiting on the V5 documents ? I take it you've had to send a load of receipts and the approval certificate and application for registration or have RTR done that for you ?

Hi Andy, RTR did all the work to get her approved with succes. Only the receipts are send back and I'm waiting for all documents to be finished and send to me to the Netherlands. When I have received these documents I will be able to convert her to dutch plates, get her insured and estimated value. When this has been done it's very likely bad weather sets in and trips will be posponed until winter salt has been washed from the tarmac. There is nothing we can do to speed this up.
I do hope next tuesday has good weather. I'll plan to pay a visit to Bas and find out where the chasis number is stamped in the chasis and adjust the european lights and if weather permits a short drive to test the coolant hoses, brakes etc. These are the only things left to do to drive her home after she has dutch plates.
Bas showed some concerns about some sideway flex of the gear change rod on the tunnel wearing out the push/pull rod to the gear box lever I made. If this will show wear I'd change this to klicktronik asap but until wear is not noticed nothing will be changed. I recon this mod might be in winter 2014 if needed. The only thing that makes me wondering is how to add the wiring through the steering hub for Sparco style switch plate.
br, Erik

Ah I see now, lets hope the weather holds out a bit for you to get a bit if driving in before Christmas. If it helps the chassis plate is on the bottom tube at the back that goes below the exhaust, well that's where mine is anyway. Andy

That's a great spot I can live with. Have you painted it with Hammerite?

My project is still on hold. No progress at all. In the meanwhile, a german friend and me re-engeneered my Fearey Delta 1 composite project and he made new testflights with the prototype airframe I made a few years ago. enjoy:
btw, this is 5500W electrical power system. mtotor efficiency 88%
