Llandow CKC/Omex Track Day 26th May

Hi All

I have just received top secret information about the May CKC/Omex Track day at Llandow. Stenty of CKC has told me it will be on May 26th.

Have a look on the forum for some pictures of the event last year. I have been 4 times and it's a great day out. Normally only £75 for CKC subscribers and about £95 for others. Its totally kits, no production stuff at all. Lunch is included and the track is good. great for first timers and old hands alike. Every driver is well behaved and the padock is friendly too.

Cafe, Go Kart park and a room to sit in if it's cold.

Paul and I waved the MEV flag last year, but we could do with some company.

I camp next to the circuit at the Llandow camp site with my Robin Hood guys to make a weekend of it too.

So, a date for your diary perhaps.

I should be going to this allthough not in a mev will be starting my build around may time after i have sold my mgb gt. Will be going in my quantum mk1. After all i only live 20 mins from llandow. So will pop over and have a chat with some of you hopefully.

Just in case you aren't aware, the olympic torch (or one of 'em ) is being brought through various locations in the area tomorrow, so expect a fair bit of traffic disruption thanks to traffic, crowds and some road closures.

I will pop down tomorrow can't not to really as it,s 30mins from where i live im not going to be doing any laps so will come and say hello to any mev owners down there. According to stuart his exocet lightweight model will be down there aswel.

Thanks MOGGERs for popping in, sorry I spoke to so few people, there were laps to be driven.

I had a great weekend. I broke down to a overheating fuelpump on the M4 a couple of time on the way down, but the car went really well on the track. the mods have been well worth it. it makes a great noise, but I am not sure how much faster it is as the speedo failed close to the start of the day. Other than that it went well all day long.

Nice weather in the camp site, and a good time with adam, james and the robin hood crowd.

Got pulled over on the way home on Sunday morning by the police to receive some constructive criticism on my front number plate. I'll get one a bit bigger I guess.

So all in all a perfect kit car weekend, breaking down on the M4, takeaway food and camping with friends in the sunshine, an excellent track day, doing lots of laps and being pulled by a sensible police man on the way home - top job

Thanks for the picture Paul, It's great to see two Rocket's on track in the same picture. What a pity the exocet wasn't in the background (having just been overtaken by two rockets ).

Trust me, had it been running there is no way that would have happened. Unless of course I was coming up to lap you! ;D
