Had a steering column delivered this week and only just taken it out the box to have a look. Does it look like I need another section of the column to you guys ? From looking at other pics of second hand columns they have an additional joint with a section below. The question is do I need the extra parts or will it be replaced anyway when I buy the extension pieces I need ?

Sad as I am to be checking out the forum this late on Xmas Eve, as long as the end piece is telescopic it sould be ok, it should be able to slide in and out about 3 inches or so.
If you look on page 3 of my thread you'll see how i attached mine. I have managed to get by so far without welding anything, mainly due to the fact I don't have access to the kit, I also like the idea of being able to dismantle everything without any hastle if I need to.

Sorry, not to sure, building the Rocket is my intro to any form of car mechanics and it's workings. so I am learning all the time. I think that there will be someone on here that will be able to give you a definite answer.

In the end part with the female splined section it looks like there is some plastic sheered off.
Anybody got some good pics of this part as I can't tell if it's fooked or not. Need to send it back in the next week if it is a dud.

Looks like the end telescopic section and UJ are missing. Let me have your e-mail address and I will send you some pictures of the one I got from Ford.

Just called Jubilee motor spares and they are sending me a replacement out today. No arguments and I can keep the old one for spares.
He assured me he would take it off the car as well to ensure that it is intact. Very good service.
