It was my understanding that the angle of the belts from the rear of the seats should not be more than 20 degrees from horizontal. As shown in this diagram. Don't know if running the belts over the bar first would count though

Steve, If the IVA office is close to you why not just go ask.. Take a few pics of seats, belts main frame you are thinking of bolting to, if you can drap it over the bar and secure below to frame.. How close to the bar does the seat come when full back..

Steve, Do you need the seat to be in the furthest back position?? If not would it be easier to just adjust the seat runners so they stop sooner??
I'm 6'2 and in mocking up was quite surprised on how much spare room I had?

Got the rad refitted today, still don't no how the old one suddenly decided to split across the top, had anti-freeze in and all that, but better now than later. Did mean to put some pics up tonight but got carried away on on a new project... no not a car but a bike... needs a little work but runs well and should take my mind off the car for a bit.

Hi Gwnwar, yep the new one is black, the one that decided to quit on me is a lightish green colour. Tried Stubbers idea of stopping the seats from going all the way back so the seat belts will fit ok, it works . Will now get the bar welded in and get them fitted.

Hi Tomaff, Sadly not had time to do anything at the mo, cross country race season started, plus building a cafe racer based on an old honda 750/4 ready for spring. Got 10 days off at crimbo so might have a go at it.

Hi guys, stevieboy is back in the game, cross country season finished, london marathon three weeks away and then its summer. Got the car out and it started first time, reversed out the garage left it running stepped out and it stopped. Didn't bother to much as i had few things to do to, get rid of the winter clutter that had built up around it being one. On getting back in, it failed to start, lost the rest of the day checking everything, bonnet off, fuses ignition circuits, gave up, pushed it back in. There then followed a very cold sunday rechecking everything again and again, still nothing, spark, battery power, good fuses, fuel filter...........ah bugger.... no fuel. It appeared it had all evaporated except for a filter full and had only managed to get out the garage on what was left in it. Always the simplest things cause the most lost time.

All the nightshift brings in is drinking enough beer to stack the empty glasses on the table pyramid style, first table to reach the ceiling wins, also music so loud that you learn sign language in three hours, you actually get to be a caveman when you drag your missus behind you by the hair as she's to drunk to walk.... last year she tried to get back on her own legs but fell in the biggest puddle on site so decided to do her dying duck impression.... so don't be put off by staying over, just remember that you dont get to the tent till about 2am and the someone comes round with a beer and another party starts.
