So had a few issues that I'm slowly sorting haven't managed to get a proper ride without another gremlin appearing. Coolant leaking, wires melting, brakes weeping latest is the spring reversing (happened to RTR too) in the clutch resulting in waiting for the AA to tow me home.
The clutch i think is on its way out there is some juddering in first gear occasionally , so I'm thinking of replacing it to sort once and for all . Read a couple of things you can upgrade the springs to improve stiffness but looking at a Barnett Clutch Kit Conversion . will have to take the engine out to fit, any opinions what do you think! once the engine is out looks fairly easy anyone else considered it

This issue I read on the internet and therefore I made my bracket with two stoppers.

good solution two i think is a good idea, mine had a bent bolt which i must have pressed down too hard reversing the springs, i cant sort it without dropping the engine, though RTR could.
Clutch has little feel so researched making it earier to controll, hence the barnett clutch conversion, taking the engine out and back in will be a days task at least so dont fancy doing it again

I saw the bend bolt solution at RTR's demo tR1ke. Made pictures of it at the kitcar show at Detling. Do not under estimated the force you can generate with your leg. A few hundreds of kg of pressure is easily pushed away. I also assumed my clutch cable will stretch out in time.

This issue I read on the internet and therefore I made my bracket with two stoppers. Thats my next job, just had a great weekend doing my electrics and feeling fantastic with the result, but need to concentrate on sensible things now like the Spot caliper mounting bracket and I do need to make a clutch stop bracket brace point, I like yours, looks just the job so I think I will make something similar.

Uprated clutch has to be a good thing on any bike engined, non bike vehicle.
We've had a bent bolt as a clutch stop on our tR1ke since day 1 and we have done lots of miles, however, as is so often the case, a customer comes up with a natty solution and Edwin's clutch stop is something we shall look at emulating on future tR1kes of our own.

So have bought the barnet clutch, so have to drop the engine out which is a git but hopefully should give more feel and also solve a juddering problem which has happend a couple of times when im trying to set off, which could be a fuel problem though ! so might swap the second fuel pump as well
I want to double check i have the coolant pipes right (they keep leaking) was there/is there a diagram anyone has of where the pipes should go, plus how would you tell that it is working . i dont think the temp sender is wired up becasue the fan is not, and i think the sensor is from the radiator?
last thing will put pics when i can, but the steering arm , couple of people have stated they look a bit short! mine has come back from rtr with some little extentions that work well!

Hey Anglais.
Can you please explain what the clutch conversion means?

Sorry edwinwl been away for a couple of days Its not really a conversion just an "upgrade" a stock clutch has only a single diaphragm spring the barnett clutch uses 6 springs meant to make it 80% stiffer, popular upgrade when putting an r1 engine in cars. There an American company origanal did harley davisons clutch's but now used lots for racing and offraod setups . this link explains it better www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk/technical/howto/200311_barnettclutchconversion/index.htmlI also got new friction plates becasue im not sure if the clutch was on its way out anyway, plus i dont want to have to redo this later dropping the engine out is time consuming to say the least
