Hi, I am just starting to clean up the running gear and subframes etc from my MX5 and considering which paint to use. Has anyone used Rust Bullet? Their website claims it out performs POR-15 but then it would wouldn't it! Any comments?

I Use POR-15 on all my chassis work and have never had a problem with it when used properly. It isn't overly expensive and has been around for a while. It would take a whole lot to get me to justify the switch to something else. In what aspect are they claiming to be better? Adhesion? Chipping?

Less preparation, better adhesion and better rust control etc etc etc. I imagine for the use the exocet will be getting there won't be much in it.

I have also been looking at Chassis paint options, has any one used this paint? :- www.frost.co.uk/automotive-paint/eastwood-paints/eastwood-extreme-chassis-black-satin-paint.htmlThe also provide a pre-cleaner and primer. it does seem an easier system than POr-15 If i am correcty it looks like you have to clean, clean again, prime with etch-primer then cover with por-15 then top coat with another POR-15 product.... am i correct? With the Eastwood product you clean, prime and paint. the total cost of the three products (US Quart size each) is £73. The company Frost Restorers sell this and POR15.
