Hi I have just joined to see if you guys might like to join in with this off the Haynes forum I am talking to Hispec about a brake upgrade for my upcoming mx5 Haynes build. Kit for 1.8 standard 256mm/20mm disc. It would retain the standard disc and use a 4 pot caliper with mounting bracket. Cost would be in the ball park of £350 inc vat for 2 calipers and brackets inc hardware. Any interest? Proposed caliper www.hispecbrake.co.uk/Ultralite%204%20Universal%20Lug.html Cheers Rog

Ok In the economy (silver matt finish) it should come out at around £325 inc postage for less than 5 kits.
5 Kits plus it will come in around the £290 mark 10 kits it will come in around £275 mark Pads would be extra.

To be honest i think these will be abit overkill, the standard 1.8 brakes are well capable for upreated mx5's running 200bhp, and with the weight loss of the exocet i think these wont be needed, however saying that if you havnt got a strict budget like me then these would look very good and the little extra stopping power could be good but unsure if it would change the brake bias. Just my opinion. Maybe more interest on the mx5nutz forum for the guys running 200+bhp

They aren't suitable for a standard 5. The calipers are designed for cars upto 700kg.
I'm thinking more in terms of weight and heat dissapation. Look good too :-)
Oh and I will be running a supercharged 250 bhp.
