Hi does anyone know what could be wrong with my 1.8 engine it starts up fine and ticks over great and can be revved up as long as it is eased up slowly then seems to perge at higher revs and when i try to rev it it tries to stall, I am almost certain its has a problem with the mass airflow sensor or the lanmba sensor as when i remove the plugs of each one it makes no difference. Dont know if this has any bearing on the problem but on the engine wiring loom "the wires that are cut and some rejoined" i have a green/black wire that has continuity when tested with ecu pins 12,14,15,21,33,34,37,57 and the green/red wire on the mass airflow sensor, the wire also becomes live to 12v when ignition is turned on and 13.8 with engine running on tick over. I also have a green/black wire coming from ecu pin 8 and a brown wire from ecu pin 46 the ecu pin 8 i believe to be something to do with the fuel pump although i have wired it up as per wiring diagram and it does actually run and ecu pin 46 i believe is something to do with throttle possition sensor / mass airflow sensor. Hope that made some kind of sense any advice will be greatfully excepted thanks Wayne

quick update on my engine problem, double checked and treble checked the wiring all is as it should be so i believe the wires mentioned just need capping off and i have had the lambda sensor checked and all seems ok there so its back to the head scratching?
