I had a great weekend at the Robin Hood Sprint day at Barkston Heath Always a good weekend but this one was great - I flew in direct from Saudi Arabia and made my way to the camp site to meet Sue and Joy who had driven the Rocket up for me (thanks family) We camped in the local camp site and had a quiet whisky challenge due to the driving duties that awaited us. In the morning I drove to the circuit, changed my tyres and attended the briefing. This year Joy was old enough to do passenger laps, but before I could take passengers I had to complete 3 solo laps to learn the course. A diesel 'Hood burst a coolent pipe and dropped glycol on the track. So the Marshals re did the track and ran us backwards for the rest of the day Sue and Joy went out with barry in his dutton, Andy in his mega Busa, me in the rocket and either richard or Pete in Richards mega blade - they had a great time In the afternoon we had three timed runs. 41 entrants and I was 5th over all and the fastest car engined car coming behind james Warner in his black special (faster than a fast thing on speed), both drivers of richard's mega blade and a MK blade engined car. However, as the trophy's are only given to payed up members I lucked into the 3rd place trophy. Who Hoo - my mum will be pleased. despite the lucky trophy i was pleased to have beaten some very powerful Robin Hoods a great weekend was had by all, many thanks to the robin hood owners group for making it happen
