Hi All I have had the pleasure of ordering the MEVX5 kit which should be ready for collection in about 3 weeks time hopefully. This weekend i have managed to get hold of the donor car for the project which a real solid little car in great condition. it is an 1.8 roadster that was imported about 10 years ago. it has been well looked after and kept in a garage most of the time i think ( there are no signs of rust at all) Attachments:

killiestu - The MEVX5 is an exceptional value at £2500 plus VAT. The MEVX5 kit comes complete with a main front and rear section, door cappings and sills. These are all made from quality GRP with a matt gell coat finish, this is a perfect base for paint as it is wax free and requires very little preparation. All you need to add is some PU adhesive, some self tapping screws, a little body filler and some elbow grease! The kit also comes with a set of lights and a rear plastic window. mevltd.co.uk/mevx5_price.htm

Hi The donor car is in very good condition i can't believe my luck with finding such a solid little car, i think being the V spec model selling the parts that i don't need shouldn't be to hard either. The kit price is indeed 2500.00 plus vat. I'm thinking of a electric blue color with silver wheels and trims i would like to increase the size of the wheels and lower the profile of the tyres, plus alter the offset of the wheel to increase the width of the track, so if anyone has any information on want i should be doing to get this right first time i would be grateful.

£2500 +the dreaded ! Thats superb, been looking at a nice dark blue 1800 with a jackson racing super charger for £1600, so this is looking like a real option for me. That sound nice Richie you just cant beat blue for any car . do we know if the rear window opens?

Hi Killiestu The back window is just fixed on the prototype car but i do plan to have this opening on my project. I plan to get the plastic hopefully replaced with glass and use the boot release for the locking. I have talked to Stuart about this and he is quite keen to help with this idea. Richie

Sounds good, can the plastic window that comes with the kit not just have hinges and gas rams fitted to it? But re-using the boot release to open the window is an excellent idea. where will you get a piece of glass shaped to suit?

surely plastic would be better as it is a lot lighter . Do you need an iva or will it be regestered as modified?

Richie is the glass going to be heated? I think that would really up the daily usability of this kit.

Hi It's been a long time since I've been on the forum, I can't believe how long I've been building my MEVX5 !!! Any way I've finally found the money for the paint job and it is going to the spray shop this Saturday 29.03.2014. I'm hoping to have it out and about this summer as everything is ready to bolt back on once it is painted.

It's not easy sharing my photos but hopefully I've got it sorted this time. If it works there should be photos of the rear tail gate !!!!
