Hi all, My name's David and after "dreaming about it" for many months we've finally taken the plunge and bought the donor and placed the deposit on an Exocet. I've wanted to build a Kit Car since I was about 7 (over 33 years ago) and now I'm roping my not too reluctant 14yr old & 10yr old sons into helping me. Not lifted a spanner in anger for over 20 years but prior to that did a lot with air-cooled VWs, Minis and a rusty, rattley Vitesse, so hopefully it won't be too big a challenge for us. Planning on an all black version (apparently it hides any non-straight cut lines - but will be keen to see other builders colour combinations on here before making a final decision. The idea is then to take the car on the road of course but also to track days and disused air fields so that the boys and I can have a blast. I have to say that Stuart has been extremely helpful (and very patient). Accommodating two site visits and taking both my lads for a quick spin up the road (he knows how to get the kids pestering us to buy one) See you out there..

And a couple of shots of the donor... A 1990 Mk1 1.6 Eunos, done about 95k miles Not driven an MX5 before but loving it !! 12months MOT and tax to Nov. means I may be driving this until the end of the summer It looks like it could do with new discs and pads so we may replace those as a first taster for the boys. My wife reckons it's in too good condition to rip apart for a kit-car. Who knows, I might still try and find a Cat D Euphonic....
